Whistleblower attacked after outing neurosurgeon who performs head injuries

This is just one of the many reasons why the country needs to hold them to account as well.

One of the most well-known cases that was leaked was a case of a man who sued a doctor in 2012 for his head injury. The incident led to the doctors getting him suspended without pay. The physician had gone to get the man's skull examined. He was told to use his own tools. The man then went to the local hospital and complained about what happened to him at the hands of Dr. Kato-Nakagawa. The doctor said there were no tools, just blood.

According to the man, that doctor told him, "this is what they called a normal procedure, but you are supposed to put a special thing and you can't touch it."

"This was a case in which the doctor in charge of this procedure was caught lying in the very moment of this surgery," said Mark Belsky, an attorney for the plaintiff, and former dean and chief of pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. "To me, that doctor has never shown any integrity. You would think that somebody would question that he is the president of the Board of Pathologists of the United States, the person who made the appointment, that he is supposed to be doing this type of procedure, that this patient can't see that."

There may not be a perfect way to conduct a trauma examination in the United States but they do exist. A neurosurgeon is supposed to examine and assess any patient for brain injury in order to confirm or otherwise assess a diagnosis, but that doesn't mean that all brain surgeries are exactly the same as those performed by an orthopedic specialist. A neurosurgeon might be able to perform a more aggressive, more surgical approach to an operation in the patient's head. But the patient will still have a head injury, and it will be difficult to obtain the same level of certainty about how the operation was performed in their head. The doctor may not even know exactly why they did what they did.

One of the most troubling aspects of the situation, according to Belsky, is that when an orthopedic specialist gives a patient an operation in which he or she would be hurt, and then tells the patient that the patient was injured to make them feel better, the patient may get angry, and that can cause the doctor to question how the surgery was done or even make it feel painful. This is why Belsky wants the American people to be able to hold them to account.

Parole board further delays towle decision until Thursday

WASHINGTON — The prison superintendent of U.S. Army Base Utica and the State Department denied that the department had given the National Guard a reason to withhold release of convicted sex offender Jeffery Hickey from the custody of the parole board as part of the Army's move to end the controversial transfer.

Assistant secretary of state Roberta Jacobson wrote Thursday in a letter to the state Department of Correction and Correctional Services Commissioner John B. Degnan that "despite our understanding that General Hickey is a serious risk to himself, others and the community of Utica, his pending release from confinement is subject to strict restrictions as imposed by his conditional discharge to provide for public safety."

Jacobson, a vice president at the private consulting firm Sullivan & Cromwell, said that "given the serious nature of the security issues with which you are concerned, the security circumstances are so compelling that we cannot reasonably continue to delay until the board's decisions are made."

Hickey, who has served as a prison guard at Fort Leavenworth since 2004, has been subject to an administrative review and possible removal from prison after a state court judge convicted him in 2010 of rape and sexual assault in a case that prosecutors referred to as a "brutal attack."

During Hickey's March 31 court hearing, one of his attorneys, Patrick Nadelmann, argued that "the Army is not subject to any of its usual safeguards on prisoner releases." Nadelmann noted, "If an inmate has no record, there would be no security concerns for the Army or the Army's other agencies."

The Army defended its decision to suspend Hickey's release pending the state and court decisions. The Army said it would provide an update in the coming days.

Hickey, who was accused of rape and robbery of a woman in 2008, had been on parole but transferred to Fort Leavenworth in May after a federal judge said his conviction of the two counts in his March 2011 rape and sexual assault was "not the primary reason
